Acupuncture for Tendinitis & Overuse Injuries
When repetitive strain won't let up, we treat the tissue ā and the pattern behind it.
Tendon and muscle overuse injuries rarely come from one bad moment. They build slowly, through repetition, compensation, or training load the tissue hasn't caught up to, until a single motion finally triggers pain that won't settle on its own.
At Revive + Root, we treat the irritated tissue and the mechanical pattern that's overloading it. That dual focus is often why patients who've already tried rest, stretching, or a brace ā and still feel stuck ā see real movement here.
Conditions We Treat
Heel and arch pain that's worse with the first steps of the day.
Pain or stiffness along the back of the heel, especially with running or jumping.
Deep pain behind the inner ankle bone, common in dancers and anyone who spends time on relevƩ or pointe.
Shoulder pain with overhead reaching or lifting.
Pain on the outside or inside of the elbow from repetitive gripping or wrist motion.
Deep outer hip pain, often worse with walking, stairs, or standing on one leg.
How We Treat It
Every tendon problem has two layers: the irritated tissue itself, and the load pattern that put it there. We use acupuncture, dry needling, and electroacupuncture to calm the immediate pain and inflammation, then bring in fascial work, motor point needling, and movement assessment to address the mechanics that caused the overload in the first place.
What to Expect
Acute strains often respond within a handful of visits. Chronic tendinopathy ā the kind that's been nagging for months ā typically needs a longer runway: weekly visits for 6ā8 weeks, then spacing out as the tissue settles. We'll map out a clearer timeline at your first visit, once we understand how long you've been dealing with it and what's driving the overload.
