Acupuncture for Plantar Fasciitis

Heel pain that's worst with your first steps has a pattern behind it —

we treat that pattern, not just the heel.

Plantar fasciitis shows up as a sharp, bruised-feeling pain along the bottom of the heel or arch, usually most intense first thing in the morning or after sitting for a while. It tends to ease as you warm up, then return after a long day on your feet.

Why It Happens

The plantar fascia is a thick band of tissue running from your heel to your toes, and it absorbs enormous load with every step. Tightness through the calf and Achilles, weakness in the foot's intrinsic muscles, or a sudden increase in walking or running volume can all overload the fascia faster than it can recover — leading to the small-scale tissue irritation that causes the pain.

How We Treat It

We needle directly into the fascia and surrounding calf and foot muscles to reduce local inflammation and tension, then work up the kinetic chain — calf, knee, and hip mechanics, along with the fascial planes connecting foot to lower leg — to address what's actually driving the overload. Most patients also leave with a short home program to support the tissue between visits.

What to Expect

Plantar fasciitis tends to respond well to consistent care — many patients notice meaningful relief within 4–6 visits, with full resolution typically taking 6–10 weeks depending on how long the irritation has been building.
