Acupuncture for Joint Sprains & Injuries
When a joint won't move the way it used to, we treat the whole pattern around it ā
not just the spot that hurts.
A sprained ankle, a shoulder that's stopped moving freely, hip pain that flares with every step ā joint injuries don't just affect the joint itself. The body compensates almost immediately, and those compensation patterns can outlast the original injury by months.
At Revive + Root, we treat the joint and the surrounding pattern of guarding, tension, and altered movement that builds around it. That's often the difference between pain that fades and pain that keeps coming back.
Conditions We Treat
Ankle Sprain
Ligament injury from rolling or twisting the ankle, with lingering instability or stiffness.
Frozen Shoulder
Progressive stiffness and loss of shoulder motion, often with no clear injury to point to.
Shoulder Impingement
Pinching pain with overhead motion, often mistaken for a rotator cuff tear.
Anterior Hip Pain
Pain at the front of the hip or groin, common in dancers, runners, and anyone who sits for long stretches.
How We Treat It
We combine acupuncture and dry needling to reduce pain and restore healthy nerve and muscle activation around the joint, with manual therapy and movement assessment to rebuild the stability and range of motion lost during injury and recovery.
What to Expect
Recent sprains and acute injuries often improve quickly, frequently within 3ā6 visits. Long-standing joint restrictions, like frozen shoulder or chronic impingement, take longer to unwind: usually weekly visits for 8ā10 weeks, with maintenance care afterward to protect the joint going forward.
